What is CODITECT?
CODITECT is an AI-powered cloud development platform that combines intelligent code assistance, cloud workstations, and team collaboration features. It's designed to help developers write better code faster.
Do I need to install anything?
No local installation is required. CODITECT runs entirely in your browser. However, we offer optional CLI tools and IDE extensions for enhanced workflows.
Which browsers are supported?
CODITECT supports:
- Google Chrome (recommended)
- Mozilla Firefox
- Apple Safari
- Microsoft Edge
All browsers should be kept up to date for the best experience.
Is my code secure?
Yes. All code is:
- Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3)
- Encrypted at rest (AES-256)
- Stored in SOC 2 compliant infrastructure
- Never used to train AI models
- Isolated per organization

Is there a free tier?
Yes! The Starter plan is free forever and includes:
- 1 seat
- Basic AI assistance
- 3 projects
- Community support
How does seat-based pricing work?
You pay per concurrent user (seat), not per installation. A 10-seat license means 10 people can use CODITECT simultaneously, but you could have 50+ people with access.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade at any time:
- Upgrades: Take effect immediately, prorated
- Downgrades: Take effect at end of billing period
Do you offer discounts?
Yes:
- Annual plans: 20% off
- Volume (10+ seats): 10-20% off
- Nonprofits: 50% off
- Education: Free for students, discounts for institutions
- Startups: Special programs available

Licenses
What happens if all seats are in use?
If all seats are occupied, new users will see a "No seats available" message. They can:
- Wait for a seat to free up
- Ask an admin to force-release an inactive session
- Request the organization to add more seats
Sessions auto-release after 6 minutes of inactivity.
Can I use CODITECT offline?
CODITECT requires internet connectivity for:
- Initial license validation
- AI assistance features
- Cloud workstation access
However, once validated, you can work briefly offline. Sessions stay valid for up to 6 minutes without connectivity.
Can I use my license on multiple devices?
Yes! Floating licenses aren't tied to specific devices. You can use CODITECT on any device, but can only have one active session at a time per user.
AI Features
Which AI model powers CODITECT?
CODITECT is powered by Claude, Anthropic's advanced AI assistant. We use the latest Claude models optimized for code understanding and generation.
Is my code used to train AI?
No. Your code is never used to train AI models. Code is only processed for immediate assistance and is not retained for training purposes.
Can I disable AI features?
Yes. Go to Settings → Preferences → AI and toggle off any AI features you don't want.
Security
Is CODITECT SOC 2 compliant?
Yes. CODITECT has achieved SOC 2 Type II certification. Contact compliance@coditect.ai for audit reports.
Do you support SSO?
Yes, on Enterprise plans. We support:
- SAML 2.0
- OpenID Connect
- Google Workspace
- Okta
- Azure AD
Where is my data stored?
Data is stored in Google Cloud Platform data centers. By default:
- US organizations: us-central1 (Iowa)
- EU organizations: europe-west1 (Belgium)
Enterprise customers can specify data residency requirements.
Troubleshooting
The page won't load
Try these steps:
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Try a different browser
- Disable browser extensions
- Check status.coditect.ai for outages
- Contact support if issue persists
AI suggestions are slow or not appearing
This could be due to:
- Network issues: Check your connection
- High load: Wait a moment and retry
- Disabled: Check Settings → AI is enabled
- File type: Some files don't support AI suggestions
I can't log in
Check:
- Correct email address
- Caps Lock is off
- Try password reset if needed
- Check if 2FA is enabled
- Clear browser cache
- Try incognito mode
